It’s not enough to say that the history of the creation of the well-known computer game Bioshock , released in 2007 by Irrational Games, is closely connected with the name of game designer Ken Levin - he became the inspiration and leader of its development. There is no doubt that, having founded this company with Jonathan Chey and Robert Fermier in 1997 , Levin was already nurturing the ideology and philosophy of the new game in the shooter genre, which became truly stellar for both Irrational Games and the most talented game designer. The authors of the script Bioshock put the book Ayn Rand (in the world - Alice Rosenbaum ) “Atlas Shrugged”, the creator of the philosophical direction of objectivism in modern literature.
In accordance with the plot, Jack, the protagonist of this fascinating shooter, safely avoiding the victim's role in a plane crash, becomes the unwitting guest of the underwater city Delight, created by millionaire Andrew Ryan at the bottom of the Atlantic in an attempt to achieve the perfect social structure. By the time Jack appeared in Delight, the city was torn apart by contradictions leading to his death. Managed by the player, the main character, using the resources provided to him, engages with hostile forces. At one time, Bioshock received the highest rating of critics and won several prestigious awards. Released 3 years later, Bioshock-2 simulates events taking place in a utopian city after 8 years.
The game BioShock Infinite, released in 2013 by the same company Irrational Games, found its continuation of the basic philosophy that Ken Levin and his colleagues used to create their previous products. And it lies in the fact that they do not just make games, but create complete original new worlds. Moreover, BioShock Infinite with original methods raises the subject of parallel worlds, connecting the plots of the two previous games with the present one both in time and in space.
The new game, throwing the protagonist, private detective Booker DeWitt, in the flying city of Colombia of the sample of the early 19th century in search of the great-eyed Elizabeth, possessor of supernatural abilities, was another step in achieving the reliability of the events, the vitality of the participating characters. Levin himself was delighted with the creation of the image of Elizabeth, considering it the best idea in BioShock Infinite. According to him, not only scripted characters are programmed rigidly involved in the game, but real people who have real artificial intelligence, who not only really participate and influence the development of history, move, but also add dynamism to it and make the world of BioShock Infinite more interesting. And thanks to the air railway, the basics of gameplay innovations, the game has become even more dynamic.
